Reasons to Love a Kromski Spinning Wheel

Every time I unbox a new Kromski spinning wheel, I am always struck with their workmanship and loveliness. So I thought I’d list why I think they’re just the best.

First of all, Kromski are a small family owned business in Poland. They keep history and tradition alive in their wheels, whilst adding modern design touches to make wheels a dream to spin on. We think there is a Kromski wheel to suit every spinner.
Every wheel arrives boxed in sustainable packaging. They limit polystyrene to the smallest square to protect the wheel shaft. All other packaging is recyclable: cardboard, brown paper, recycled paper/magazines and brown tape. Everything is neatly and securely packaged and well labelled so you know what’s what.
Every wheel is crafted from the finest materials – all of which are also sustainable – primarily wood, metal and leather. A wheel is built to last a lifetime and is heirloom quality.
Kromski offer ‘unfinished’ wheels to provide spinners with lower cost wheel options. But better still, it means that their wheels are highly customisable. Oil them, paint them, or varnish them to create your dream wheel. So if you’ve always dreamed of a hot pink wheel, Kromski is the only wheel manufacturer for you. If finishing your own wheel seems too daunting, Kromski also offer the Fantasia spinning wheel in various finished colours (mint, coral, black, royal purple, eco, clear and walnut), and release a new colour every year. Just ask us to order it for you (subject to availability).
In a world of unreadable assembly instructions, Kromski offer peace of mind. Each wheel arrives with beautiful assembly instructions – a glossy colour booklet with clear photographs and simple understandable instructions for each step. I have copies of assembly instructions that I bring along to spinning sessions should you like to see what’s involved before you consider purchasing a wheel.
And last but not least, I could not finish this list without mentioning all of the available accessories! From different whorls and flyer options to further customise your wheel, to carders, drop spindles, distaffs, niddy noddies – the list goes on and on. So there are always more lovely things that you just have to have! Just ask to take a look at their product catalogue at your spinning experience.
